This is a spectacular 1930s or early '40s Guild Original evening bag. There on two fan shaped, rhinestone-covered decorations on each side at the top.
The top zips securely closed. The material is wool. It measures 10" at the widest point x 9" tall (without the handles) x almost 4" deep. The handle drop is 7". There are 3 open pockets inside, one with a small change purse in it, a smaller pocket with what appears to be the original comb, and another larger pocket behind the comb pocket.
This Guild bag is in Mint Condition. There are absolutely no flea or moth bites in the wool. No wear on the handles. The zipper works easily and has no wear on the surrounding material. We did not see any missing stones.
Please Note: This bag is jet black with no fading, no rubbing wear, and no fuzzinest as the photos may suggests. Some photos have been lightened in an effort to show more of the detail, but the bag is perfectly dark black with no wear. Nine photos below:
I wish the photos were better. You've heard it a million times but sometimes it's true; the photos do not do this purse the justice it deserves.
The woven material on the frame at the top looks shiny not because of any wear, but because there is a shinier material woven into the wool.
The bottom has a sturdy cardboard panel sewn in to help the bag keep it's shape and stand up. This is quality!
